Christmas on the Western Front

I wrote this Christmas story to be read at our party, but it pretty quickly became apparent that it wouldn't fit the tone of the party. Still, I liked it and so I posted it over on FA. If you feel like reading, take a stroll over there and check it out.

Hope everyone had a delightful Christmas and is taking some time to relax before the new year gets under way! We'll be off this afternoon for a short trip down the central coast, but hope to be back in time for our traditional football afternoon--both our teams are in essentially one-game playoffs to win their divisions and get to the postseason. (All three of our teams are technically alive, but Philly needs not only to win, but to have two other teams lose and a black cat to dance widdershins around the tallest tree in the grove at the exact moment of conjunction between Jupiter and Neptune.) Then we'll be off to Vegas for our annual celebration of the New Year!
